Actress Isabella Ferreira (“Orange is the New Black” and “Love, Victor”) chatted about being a part of the new feature film “No Address,” which shines a light on homelessness.

This is a story about those experiencing homeliness. The all-star cast includes William Baldwin, Xander Berkeley, Ashanti, Beverly D’Angelo, Ty Pennington, Lucas Jade Zumann, Kristianna Loken, and Patricia Velasquez.
“So far it has been a phenomenal experience,” Ferreira admitted. “I feel like I’ve learned so much from this movie. Everyone has been incredible, the cast is extremely talented, and the crew has been exceptional. We have a lot of consultants on board that really push the authenticity aspect of it. ‘No Address’ has been amazing so far.”
The movie is directed by Julia Verdin and written by award-winning writers Verdin and James J. Papa. They pulled characters’ touching storylines from the countless hours spent by the producing team visiting shelters, missions, and organizations across America. “To be a part of something so meaningful, that matters not only to me but to the viewers watching, is really important,” she said.
“This project was a labor of love. I grew up in a low-income neighborhood surrounded by homelessness so this is something that I am not new to. I learned so much being on this project, and it was really important to me,” she elaborated.
The hope is that “No Address” will encourage viewers to engage deeper with compassion in their own communities and incite personal participation by. It is being filmed in the greater Sacramento area through the end of March. “Have hope and treat people with kindness because you never know what people are going through,” she said.
“As long as you treat people the way you wish to be treated, that will go so far,” she added.
Playing Lauren in the film
Ferreira plays Lauren, a foster kid that is coming home from her high school graduation. Lauren finds her possessions on the doorstep. She has been kicked out with nowhere to turn to. She ends up on the streets and has a run in with local gang members, leading to her meeting Jimmy and a new family. “I love her determination, honestly. Lauren is a young girl in an unfortunate situation, but she doesn’t let that tear her away from her hope to live a happy and content life,” she said.
‘Orange is the New Black’
On her experience in “Orange is the New Black,” Ferreira recalled, “That was a great experience. It was one of my first big jobs, and it was phenomenal.”
“It got to work with Laura Prepon, and she is just stunning. Aside from being the lead actress, she also directed an episode that I was in. Also, Elizabeth Rodriguez played my mom, and she was wonderful as well,” Ferreira said.
The digital age
On being an actress in the digital age, Ferrera said, “It’s interesting. I feel like streaming is a big thing these days. It is definitely different from when I first started. Now, there are so many different streaming services. There are so many new series that are getting picked up these days.”
Career-defining moments
On her career-defining moments, she said, “There have been so many moments. I have had so many amazing opportunities that I am very grateful for. When I looked the show ‘Love, Victor’ that was a life-changing, career-defining moment for me. I was just so excited and back then I was so new in the business. I was lucky to work with a wonderful cast and crew for four years.”
Motivations as an actress
Regarding her daily motivations as an actress, she said, “Honestly, I am motivated by my family. My mom is my biggest inspiration, she is a person that inspires me every single day. She is a ‘momager.’ She is incredible and I do a lot of what I do because of her.”
Advice for hopefuls
For young and aspiring actors, Ferreira said, “Just keep on going. You never know when you’re going to make that one hit. Don’t care what other people think, that’s a big one. Always be yourself and keep going.”
On the title of the current chapter of her life, Ferreira said with a sweet laugh, “To Be Determined…”
Dream acting partners
She listed Florence Pugh as her dream acting partner in showbiz. “Florence Pugh is phenomenal, it would be a dream to work with her,” she said. “There are a lot of talented people in this industry,” she acknowledged.
Success
On her definition of success, Ferreira said, “Being happy with yourself in any predicament you may be in. As long as you are content with yourself, and the people around you.”
Fans
For her loyal fans, Ferreira said, “Thank you. I wouldn’t be doing what I am today with the help of the fans and their support. I don’t like calling them fans, they are more like supporters or family to me.”
